How often do we project our thoughts onto someone without getting to know them? Tattoos? Strange hair colors? Piercings? Weight? Beard? Vitiligo? Birthmarks? Missing limbs? Scars? The color of their skin or even scales? What if they had horns and fangs?

Too often, we can damn our view of someone or something without realizing it. The things that make us unique and express our voice can shape the image someone creates in their mind about us weather or not they were intentional; we had no say in having. Along with the very first interactions we have, speaking and talking to anyone for the first time can be a nerve-wracking experience.

What if the most beautiful soul you would ever meet in your lifetime, a true friend to welcome with open arms, you inadvertently turned away because of a small detail that did not affect their inner self.

Much like you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, nor should a person be judged on theirs, chosen or otherwise—Lillith, a name damned, and an even more damming look. Her story, like the rest of us, wrought with challenges and heartbreak. Many of the people you will see have an inner battle raging inside of them.
